Ads I like
I did some additional research this weekend, and came up with a few ads that I really liked. I think one thing that makes these ads powerful, is that they are simple. Although the graphics may be complex, the message is always simple. They don't try to say too much with the graphics. It could be a message as simple as, "The speakers are loud." or "Wear a helmet." The entire ad revolves around that theme.
2) The design is eye catching. It may be as simple as a big yellow circle inside a black circle, or as complex as a custom illustration. Either way, it is eyecatching. What is more important, is that the graphics revolve around the central them.
So for my ads, I need to have one simple, repeatable theme. It needs to be an easily understandable theme. My graphics need to be eye catching, and revolve around that theme.

I realized today that since these ads are supposed to show a new age of smart computers, and be marketed to a variety of people..........well, I realized that my designs are a little too "creepy" to do that. Yes they are cool.....but a little creepy. I'm going to study a few things this week to get ideas. I'm going to study movies like AI, The bicentennial man, and Wall E. I'm also going to study cutting edge technology, and how it is marketed...companies like apple or alienware.

Describing the Process
So just to explain what everything below is:
If you scroll way down you can see what this project is about, and why I'm doing these designs.
Above that somewhere are my thumbnails and roughs, which these more finalized ideas are based on.
Right below here you can see this sort of robotic arm with a human hand. The original sketch for that is somewhere below, where I have these hands coming up over a computer.
The process for these designs was kinda cool. I drew everything out first by hand...and then refined my ideas in illustrator. I brought my detailed sketches into photoshp and filled everything in with colored fills.
The rest was pretty simple. It was just a process of going into the blending options and creating inner shadows and highlights. I added some special effects to give some places and extra shine.
